New concrete: When applying to new concrete, let concrete cure for 28 to 30 days or reach a pH of below 10 before applying Sikalastic®-215 DRYLOK®.

or applying Sikalastic®-201 DRYLOK® Wet Primer on new concrete with PH not more than 13.

Surface must be clean and free from dirt, dust, grease, oil, form release compound, or paint.

Old paint in poor condition must be removed by using suitable means.

Patch all holes or cracks and the floor/wall joint with Sika® Fastplug-102 ultra fast setting compound, and smooth the patch evenly with the surface.

Efflorescence, a white, powdery, crystal-like deposit visible on the masonry surface, must be removed. Muriatic acid is one of effective efflorescence removal agents. 

All masonry surfaces are subject to occurrences of efflorescence. The application of Sikalastic®-201 DRYLOK® Wet Primer will minimize the reoccurrence of efflorescence when the surface is properly treated.

Stir thoroughly before and during application.

On Dry substrate

Substrate moisture content maximum 5%. 

Air and surface temperatures must be 10°C or higher.
Take Sikalastic®-215 DRYLOK® as self-primer, only when applied as primer allowed adding maximum 10% water. Wait for a dry (rain-free) period to apply.

Sikalastic®-201 DRYLOK® Wet Primer can be applied on dry substrate as primer as well. Recommend to damp the dry substrate with wet sponge before Sikalastic®-201 DRYLOK® Wet Primer application. Don't diluent Sikalastic®-201 DRYLOK® Wet Primer.

It is recommended to test the product in a small area prior to full application to ensure the desired effect is achieved.

For first coat primer application, always recommend good quality nylon bristle brush, apply Sikalastic®-215 DRYLOK® into the pores of the masonry, making sure to fill all pores and pinholes. 

Second and third layer can be applied by roller [3/4” (19mm) nap], brush, or spray.

Spray tips: To achieve production rates at 600g/m² (WFT 430 μm) best results using a 525 or 527 reversible tip. (Two passes overlapping the spray pattern).

Clean: Flush pump and clean sprayer with hot soapy water

Appearance:

For brush application, it will leaves brush mark;

For spray application it will show ideal smooth finish. 

However, for decorative purposes, you can apply a good quality latex paint. Wait 24 hours before applying decorative topcoat.

Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use. Hardened material can only be mechanically removed.
