SikaCeram®-618 Coloured Grout

Floor and wall tile joint filler

SikaCeram®-618 Coloured Grout is a cementitious tile grout with selected fillers and chemical additives, designed for filling joints between tiles or natural stones. It is suitable for a wide range of tiling applications and available in various colours.

Usage

As a filler for joints between tiles or natural stones in both interior and exterior applications. For exterior and wet area applications, mix SikaCeram®-618 Coloured Grout with SikaLatex®-118 instead of water.

Application steps

SURFACE PREPARATION

Allow adhesive bed to set, normally between 24–48 hours before commencement of grouting. Remove tile spacers and rake out excessive tile adhesives between the tiles, ensure the joints are uniform in depth. Ensure tile joints are clean and free from dust/debris. If required, use compressed air or vacuum to remove dust/debris. All surfaces must be clean and free from movement, oil, grease, wax, curing compound and any other loose or contaminating materials. It is the user’s responsibility to determine the condition and suitability of all surfaces prior to grouting application.

MIXING

Pour clean water or SikaLatex®-118 / SikaLatex®-118 EM into a clean mixing container. Then, add SikaCeram®-618 Coloured Grout.

Mix continuously in circular motion using low-speed mechanical mixer until a lump-free, creamy consistency and uniform paste is observed. No extra water should be added.

APPLICATION

Work in small areas at a time.

With the aid of a rubber grout float, compress the mixture into tile joints. Work diagonally to avoid lifting the grout.

Ensure that tile joints are fully compacted with grout, as air voids will cause the grout to sink or crack.

When the grout joints are firm (slightly hardenend), polish the tile surface in circular motion with a clean, damp cloth to remove excessive SikaCeram®-618 Coloured Grout. Repeat this process until the tile surface clean.

Allow the grout to cure for at least 48 hours before allowing traffic over it. Setting may be delayed on dense or impervious surface.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all tools and application equipments with clean water immediately after use. Hardened or cured material can only be removed mechanically.
