The residual humidity of gypsum-based surfaces must be less than 0.5 %.

Allow Sika® Primer-11 W MY to dry (tack free) before applying subsequent plaster/mortar or other cementitious layer, but not earlier than 2 hours after application of Sika® Primer-11 W MY. During application of subsequent layer, take note of dust build-up on the substrate, which may affect bonding.

100–200 g/m² depending on substrate absorption

Substrates must be clean, dry and free from all contaminants such as dirt, oil, grease, coatings, laitence, surface treatments and loose friable materials that inhibits absorption of Sika® Primer-11 W MY.

Prior to application, mix Sika® Primer-11 W MY by shaking the pail for ~30 seconds. DO NOT remove cap when mixing.

Apply Sika® Primer-11 W MY with a brush or roller onto the substrate. Ensure Sika® Primer-11 W MY covers the entire surface of the substrate. High absorbent substrates may require a second coat. Apply the second coat after the first coat is tack free, approx. 2 hours later.

In low absorbent substrates, dilute Sika® Primer-11 W MY with water in a ratio of 1:1 max., (by weight). 

Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use.
