May be applied on fresh concrete after power-trowelling, on matt dry concrete surfaces. Sikafloor®-20 CureHard LI MY can also be applied on fully cured and set concrete a with matt dry surface, no standing water or puddles. 

Subsequent coats can be applied after the previous coat has dried, normally ~1 to 1.5 hours after application of the previous coat.

Times are approximate and will be affected by changing ambient condition particularly temperature and relative humidity.

The surface is touch-dry after ~1.5 hours at +30 °C. Maximum sealing and hardening effect is achieved after 7 days.

This consumption may vary and does not take into consideration for any additional material required due to surface porosity, surface profile, variations in level, wastage or any other variations. 

Apply Sikafloor®-20 CureHard LI MY to a test area to calculate the exact consumption for the specific substrate conditions and proposed application equipment.

IMPORTANT NOTE

• Do not apply Sikafloor®-20 CureHard LI MY on substrates previously treated with curing agents, membrane forming sealers or asphalt until these layers have been completely removed.
• Apply Sikafloor®-20 CureHard LI MY on a small area of each surface to confirm suitability, coverage rate and desired results before commencing the full application. Test with the same equipment, surface preparation and application procedures as for the actual application.
• Apply Sikafloor®-20 CureHard LI MY only on dry substrates free of water puddles and dampness.

Hardened/Old Concrete

Surfaces must be sound, open textured, clean, free from laitance, surface water, oils, grease, coatings, all loosely adhering particles and other surface contaminants. Any residue of curing agents must be completely removed from all surfaces before application of Sikafloor®-20 CureHard LI MY. If in doubt, apply a test area first. 

Fresh Concrete

Allow the fresh concrete to cure for a minimum of 7 days or until the cement has sufficiently hydrated prior to treatment with Sikafloor®-20 CureHard LI MY. After the curing period has elapsed, treat the fresh concrete surfaces as described for Hardened/Old Concrete.

Note: It is posibble to apply Sikafloor®-20 CureHard LI MY on fresh concrete surfaces that are 3 days old. However, on-site tests must be conducted to determine and confirm suitability of use. For best results with fresh concrete surfaces, wait for 7 days after placement of concrete. 

Hardened/Old concrete

The substrate must be prepared by suitable cleaning method such as high-pressure water cleaning or by ride-on cleaning machines. Allow the substrate to dry. All dust, dirt, loose and friable material must be completely removed from all surfaces before application of Sikafloor®-20 CureHard LI MY, preferably by brush and vacuum.

To remove dirt, stains and scuffs, buffing is preferred.

Fresh concrete

The concrete must be prepared by suitable power or manual floating/tamping techniques. Prior to application of Sikafloor®-20 CureHard LI MY, all dust, dirt, loose and friable material must be completely removed from all surfaces, preferably by brush and vacuum.

IMPORTANT NOTE

• Do not mix Sikafloor®-20 CureHard LI MY with other formulations of Sika® or other curing membranes, release agents or floor hardeners. 

• Do not use sprayers which has been previously used to spray silicones, release agents or other liquid materials.
• Ensure spraying equipment is cleaned thoroughly before use and residues of previous materials are completely removed.
• Maintain a continuous film. When applying Sikafloor®-20 CureHard LI MY, do not leave dry spots in order to achieve homogenous performance. Touch up where necessary.  

Hardened/Old Concrete

1. Using a low pressure sprayer, apply a single layer sufficient to wet the floor surface without producing puddles. Avoid over application.
2. Use a clean microfiber pad to spread Sikafloor®-20 CureHard LI MY evenly and ensure uniform wetting on the floor surface. Note: Avoid spreading once drying begins.
3. (Optional) Alternatively, use a cleaning machine with soft pads to spread and apply Sikafloor®-20 CureHard LI MY.
4. Scrubbing is not necessary.
5. Reapply Sikafloor®-20 CureHard LI MY and keep the surface from drying for at least 30 minutes. It is important to maintain the densifier in-place, in a damp condition so that it can penetrate the concrete surface properly.
6. Once the required treatment is completed, immediately remove excess material (dried powder residue) using a stiff broom, power sweeper, floor scrubbing machine and vacuum. Clean water can be used to keep the excess material from drying during the removal process. If the excess material is not removed immediately, it will leave unsightly deposits on the concrete surface.
7. For strongly absorbent floors, an extra coat may be required.
8. Allow the concrete treated with Sikafloor®-20 CureHard LI MY to dry thoroughly. 
9. To enhance shine, burnish or polish the concrete surface by using burnishing equipment with appropriate polishing pad. This is a dry operation.

Fresh Concrete

5. Once the required treatment is completed, allow the surface to dry, and immediately initiate the specified curing procedure, if required.
6. When curing has completed, rinse and scrub the floor with clean water and cleaning pads or brushes attached to a mechanical floor scrubber to remove debris, excess materials and residues. Remove the rinse water with wet-vacuum before it dries. 

To maintain the appearance of the floor after application, Sikafloor®-20 CureHard LI MY must have all spillages removed immediately and must be regularly cleaned using rotary brush, mechanical scrubbers, scrubber dryer, high pressure washer, wash and vacuum techniques etc, using suitable detergents and waxes.
