Usage

As a filler for joints between tiles or natural stones, in both interior and exterior applications. For exterior application, mix Davcogrout with Davco Grout Admix Plus RL 1000 instead of water.

Application steps

MIXING

Pour clean water or Davco Grout Admix Plus RL 1000 into a clean mixing container. Then, add Davcogrout.

Mix continuously in circular motion using low-speed mechanical mixer until a lump-free, creamy consistency and uniform paste is observed. No extra water should be added.

APPLICATION

Work in small areas at a time.

With the aid of a rubber grout float, compress the mixture into tile joints. Work diagonally to avoid lifting the grout.

Ensure that tile joints are fully compacted with grout, as air voids will cause the grout to sink or crack.

When the grout joints are firm (slightly hardenend), polish the tile surface in circular motion with a clean, damp cloth to remove excessive Davcogrout. Repeat this process until the tile surface clean.

Allow the grout to cure for at least 48 hours before allowing traffic over it. Setting may be delayed on dense or impervious surface.

CLEANING OF EQUIPMENT

Clean all tools and application equipments with clean water immediately after use. Hardened or cured material can only be removed mechanically.

What is sanded and unsanded tile grouts?

Sanded tile grouts contain sand and is used for grouting floor and wall grout joints, with width between 3–12 mm. The sand thickens the grout to prevent shrinkage and cracks in wider grout joints.

Unsanded tile grouts does not contain sand and is used for grouting grout joints that are ≤ 3 mm wide. It has a smooth texture making it suitable for grouting smaller joints.

What is a tile grout?

Generally, there are two types of tile grout:

  1. cementitious tile grout – made of cement and filler powder
  2. epoxy tile grouts – made of epoxy resins and filler powder

The space in-between the tiles is called a “grout joint”. Tile grout is used for filling up grout joints in between tiles and natural stones and is available in a wide range of colours. It helps to keep dirt, debris and water from getting in between and under the tile. It also adds rigidity and strength to the tile installation besides keeping the tile line straight.
