Davco® Bonding Agent

Store properly in dry conditions, in undamanged and unopened, original sealed packaging. Keep away from direct sunlight.

Mix sand and cement first, then add Davco® Bonding Agent solution as required (Davco® Bonding Agent solution is Davco® Bonding Agent diluted with water). Mix using a trowel or with a low speed drill until a homogenous mortar is attained.

As primer coat
(To improve adhesion to substrates)

The substrate surface should be thoroughly dampened with water to saturated-surface-dry condition (SSD). Free standing water should be removed. A primer consisting 1 part neat cement mixed with 1 part sand and 1 part Davco® Bonding Agent by volume should be vigorously worked onto the substrate surface with brush / stiff broom. Apply the overlay mortar/screed whilst the primer coat is still wet (wet-on-wet application).

As weatherproof bonding, copping and tiling

The prepared surface should be thoroughly dampened with water to saturated-surface-dry condition (SSD). Free standing water should be removed. A primer coat should be applied to the substrate surface and also to the back of the tile. Whilst the primer coat are still wet, bed the tiles onto the LMC (Latex-Modified Concretes) mortar. Vertical applications will require support.

As general purpose and waterproof wall renderings

The prepared surface should be thoroughly dampened with water to saturated-surface-dry condition (SSD). Free standing water should be removed. It is recommended that a priming coat is applied. The thickness of LMC renderings should be restricted to about 7 mm for each layer to avoid sagging (of the render). For higher thickness several layers may be applied in relatively quick succession (typically 1–2 hours). It is necessary to allow each layer to set adequately before receiving the subsequent layer. If the main purpose of the render is for water resistance, the recommended concentration of Davco® Bonding Agent is increased to about 30–40 parts per 100 parts of cement.

NOTE: Add up to 10 L of water. Since Davco® Bonding Agent has a considerable plasticizing action, gradually add the water until the required consistency is attained. 

Excess Davco® Bonding Agent and tools can be cleaned with water while the product is still fresh.
