Sikafloor®-2040

Acrylic water based resin floor coating

Sikafloor®-2040 is a 1-part coloured water based acrylic thixotropic floor coating for asphalt substrates. The coating provides a thick seamless, smooth semi-gloss finish for surfaces that are suitable for sports flooring, demarcation areas and light wheeled traffic exposure. Varying thickness’s can be achieved from 2.0–3.0 mm. Internal and external use.

Available colours: red (~RAL 3009), green (~RAL 6001), grey (~RAL 7015).

Applied colours selected from colour charts will be approximate.

It is recommended that applied colour samples must be compared against colour chart colours under the same lighting conditions before final selection.

When product is exposed to direct sunlight there may be some discolouration and colour variation, this has no influence on the function and performance of the coating.

These figures are theoretical and do not allow for any additional material due to surface porosity, surface profile, variations in level or wastage etc.
Application steps

MIXING

Sikafloor®-2040 is supplied ready for use. Before application, mix for 2 minutes using a low speed single paddle electric stirrer (300–400 rpm) or other suitable equipment to mix the liquid and all the coloured pigment until a uniform colour has been achieved.

APPLICATION

Prior to application, confirm substrate moisture content, relative air humidity and dew point.

Pour mixed Sikafloor®-2040 onto prepared substrate and spread evenly using a rubber trowel to the required thickness.

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Clean all tools and application equipment with water immediately after use. Hardener and/or cured material can only be removed mechanically.
