Davco K555 Slurry
Davco K555 Slurry is a rigid two component cementitious waterproofing system. Its alkaline reactive formulation with synthetically modified alkaline resistant cement enables protection against possible water ingress.
- Economical
- Pre-batched components - mixes and applies easily
- Slurry or trowellable consistency
- Increased frost and salt resistance
- Protects against concrete carbonation and water penetration
- Non toxic - suitable for contact with drinking water
Usage
- Interior and exterior waterproofing and damp-proofing of concrete, cementitious rendering, brickwork and blockwork.
- Sealing fine, hairline cracks in concrete structures not subjected to movement.
- Potable concrete water tanks, wet kitchen, bathroom, toilet, balcony, water tank, and RC gutters.

Waiting time to overcoating
Waiting Time
The waiting time between coats is 4–8 hours (at +30 °C).
Overcoating
For overcoating with cementitious materials, allow the second coat to harden for at least 3 days prior to overcoating.
For use in water-retaining structures or for applying renders over it or for overcoating with non-cementitious materials, please contact Sika Technical Service Department.
Consumption
- Waterproofing bathrooms, terraces and balconies is 1.0 kg/m² per coat
- Waterproofing coating more than 1 m waterhead is 1.5 kg/m² per coat
- As a protective coating is 2.0 kg/m² per coat
Notes:
- Davco K555 Slurry must be applied in minimum of 2 coats, including upturns up to 300 mm height.
- 3 coats may be required in areas of extremely high infiltration
MIXING
Pour Part B into a clean mixing container.
Add Part A gradually while mixing continuously in circular motion using low-speed mechanical mixer until lump-free, plastic consistency is achieved.
Mix for 2–3 minutes to ensure proper dispersion of the components - no addition of water is allowed.
APPLICATION
Whilst the substrate is still damp from saturation, apply the first coat. Leave to harden for approximately 4–8 hours at temperatures above 20 °C before applying the second coat.
As a slurry
Apply the mixed Davco K555 Slurry by hand using a hard plastic bristled brush or broom. Applied in the same direction. Apply the second coat of Davco K555 Slurry in a crosswise direction as soon as the first coat has hardened.
As a mortar
Davco K555 Slurry is applied by trowel (e.g. for a smooth surface finish). In this application Davco K555 Slurry must be mixed with a 10 % reduction of part A. The first coat is applied with a 1 mm notched trowel. Apply the second coat of Davco K555 Slurry with a flat trowel as soon as the first coat has hardened.
For pore / blowhole filling, tightly trowel into the pores / blowholes of the surface.
For floor applications, to avoid risk of damage and contamination to the first coat, it is recommended that the second coat be applied within 24 hours of the first coat. If the second coat is applied 12 hours or later, the first coat shall be slightly prewetted, preferably by using a fine spray. After the second coat has been applied, a better finish can be achieved by rubbing down with a soft, dry sponge.
