Sika® Injection-125 MY

Single component low viscosity hydrophobic polyurethane grout

Sika® Injection-125 MY is a single component hydrophobic hydroactive injection grout based MDI (methylene-diphenyl isocyanate) polyurethane. Sika® Injection-125 MY has very fast reaction time. When Sika® Injection-125 MY reacts with water, it starts to foam and expand very quickly. As the grout reacts, it expands and stops the water leak within a very short period. Expansion ratio is dependent on the amount of water added to the resin mixture and the moisture level in the environment. It reacts to form a very dense and flexible material or to a flexible foam.

Usage

  • To seal leaking live crack movement joints, pipe intrusions, etc. suffering from infiltration in basements and concrete below water table
  • To seal and fill defective concrete (honeycombs, voids, etc.)

Storage Conditions

Store properly in undamaged unopened, original sealed packaging, in dry conditions at temperatures between +5 °C and +30 °C. Protect from direct sunlight and frost. Opened pails must be resealed immediately after use. Material exposed to atmospheric moisture will cure within 7–10 days. Shake the pails before use and once opened should be used as soon as possible.

Application steps

CLEANING OF TOOLS

Completely flush the pump and hose with Sika® Colma-Cleaner or Thinner C. Use putty knife or trowel to remove excess material from walls, floors, etc. Wait for the material to cure before removing. May be sanded off.

What material can be used to seal leakages on cracked concrete?

1-component or 2-components PU injection foam/resin can be used to seal leakages on cracked concrete.

What is the difference between a PU injection foam and PU injection resin?

PU injection foam requires water to react. As it reacts, it will foam and expand to stop the water leaks within a short period. PU Injection foam are normally injected into cracks that are constantly wet with flowing water.

PU injection resin do not foam when in direct contact with water (non-reactive to water). It is usedfor permanent water-tight sealing with some flexibility to absorb limited movement, in dry or damp cracks and joints. It is not suitable to be injected into cracks that are constantly wet with flowing water.
